This is a reading course about the functioning of the labour market in advanced economies: the determination of supply of and demand for labour, wage formation in different institutional environments, the causes and consequences of labour market failures in the labour market, and consequences of policy interventions.
Special attention is given to the causes and consequences of unemployment and to the size and structure of employment and unemployment.
