Forskning i maskinteknik - projekt Tunga Fordon
South-East of Sweden is a national centre of Heavy Vehicles manufacturers with a strong global presence on the world market. An active role of Växjö University, with its internal and external networks, as a regional source of peak competence in high priority technologies has fundamental importance for the further development of the competitiveness of the regional Heavy Vehicles industry. Heavy Vehicles in the University program has a broad technology base with a wide span of applications. Design tools are developed within advanced research programs, as well as thesis works at masters and bachelors levels, for the application by the industry in directs product development. By establishing close contact between Industry and University there will also develop opportunities for direct cooperation on a project basis, which contributes to a stimulating environment for students and researchers.
Heavy Vehicles involves many technologies and research environments and is identified by the University as a new, powerful subject within the Technology Program. This program will be a corner-stone within the innovation system Heavy Vehicles, which also forms part of the Development Program of Växjö.
