This course provides an introduction to current issues in public archaeology. Drawing on a long tradition of public education and co-operation with amateurs in Scandinavian archaeology, students learn about key debates in heritage studies, archaeology and current cultural policy, various outreach strategies, archaeological open-air museums, and the meaning of archaeology in popular culture, among other topics.
