Labour economics covers a very lager fields and aims at shed light on economics and social problems of great importance. The main objective of this course is to enhance our understanding of how the labour market is functioning focusing on topics such as the determinants of labour supply and labour demand, employment and unemployment, wage determination and industrial relations, the impacts of labour market regulations as well as labour market policy. After completing this course, the student is expected to be able to apply labour economic theories and conduct empirical analysis to a variety of problems.
