From the Director

2011 and 2012 have been eventful years for our research group at Linnaeus University! Becoming a university center with the generous funding it included allowed us to both engage with our joint and individual research projects and to hire new colleagues.

New Anthology

New Anthology

Linnaeus University Centre: Concurrences in Colonial and Postcolonial Studies plans to publish an anthology to develop an refine our central research concerns and concepts. We aim to publish the volume with an internationally renowned academic publisher during 2014.

    • Guest Professor from Canada spring 2013.

      Diana Brydon, professor at University of Manitoba, Centre for Globalization and Cultural Studies, Canada, will be Guest Professor at the Centre for Colonial and Postcolonial Studies spring 2013.Professor Brydon will give a seminar on 7 February 2013, entitled "How Can We Build Transnational Research and Learning Cultures?".

      Long before the publication of Bram Stokers Dracula, vampires have eagerly transgressed the borders of gender, race, class, propriety, and nations. Such fervent violations of boundaries intensified during the final years of the twentieth century, and the early years of the current millennium have been known as 'the decade of the vampire'.
