Research at the Faculty of Business and Economics
The research environment in entrepreneurship and business enterprise is internationally well-established and has a long tradition in Kalmar and Växjö as precursors of Linnaeus University. Here, research is pursued into community business enterprise, family businesses, networking, innovation and design.
The Baltic region and China are two of the expanding new markets in Europe and Asia respectively which are being studied in the Baltic Business Research Center (BBRC). Other examples of research areas include economic aspects of the tourism and experience sector, the focus of the Center for Cultural Economics (CCE).
The research environment Corporate Governance studies the roles which auditors, boards, owners, bankers and financial analysts play in the governance of companies. Research sheds light on networks, power and norms from a national and international perspective.
The research environment Center for Labour Market Policy Research (CAFO) is a major research environment within economics and statistics and is often visible in society debates and current affairs contexts. Cafo evaluates among other aspects labour market policy measures and the situation of immigrants in the labour market. The economic effects of immigration are also studied.
