In a new doctoral thesis from Växjö University, economist Magnus Carlsson has examined the extent of discrimination in the Swedish labour market. The examination has been carried out with the help of an experimental method which involves the researcher sending out identical fictitious job applications in response to real-life advertised vacancies- the applications differ only in terms of the fictitious names of the applicants.
