SEK 700 000 from the Swedish Research Council to Aihui Peng

Receives a grant from the research programme Swedish Research Links for a Swedish-Chinese study.

Aihui Peng, Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education at the School of Computer Science, Physics and Mathematics, has received a grant from the research programme Swedish Research Links of the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). Only 43 out of 179 applications to the programme was granted.

The grant comprises SEK 700 000 and extends over a period of three years. It is intended for the research project entitled Comparative study on teachers analyzing students' mathematical errors between China and Sweden: Impact of mathematics teachers' knowledge and cultural values, and for further research collaboration between Swedish and Chinese researchers in mathematics teacher education.

The Swedish Research Links Programme seeks to foster research ties between researchers in Sweden, on the one hand, and researchers in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), Afrika, Latin America and Europe on the other. The programme is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and administered by the Swedish Research Council.
