Sociology is both a tool and a way of thinking. Within the subject, human experiences and societies are studied not only as they are but also how they appear to various people.
Understanding and exploring
Sociology places particular emphasis on the explanation and understanding of human actions and the cultural and social events, routines and movements which arise when human beings meet in various situations. This is studied in communities, institutions and organizations which have been created by human beings.
Love and war
Everything, from love between people to wars involving major empires are sociological objects of study. As war and love are examples of societal and interpersonal actions and processes, they are studied within the discipline of sociology.
