About KMA
Education of seafarers started in Kalmar on October 1, 1842. Ever since there has been a school of maritime sciences i Kalmar.
Nowadays, the school is called Kalmar Maritime Academy and is centrally located in the city´s harbour.
About 700 students attend the programmes in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering and Maintenance Technology. KMA also offers a variety of courses targeted at working merchant marine officers.
