MIRAI 2.0 TEG Ageing Workshop -Unlocking potential for new collaborations
In September Linnaeus University is hosting the digital MIRAI 2.0 TEG Ageing Workshop -Unlocking potential for new collaborations.
MIRAI 2.0 is an academic alliance between 19 Universities in Sweden and Japan. The aim is to contribute to long-term research collaboration and to promote Sweden and Japan as nations of world-leading large-scale research infrastructure.
The workshop will give researchers the opportunity to:
- reconnect after the Research and Innovation Week in June 2021
- develop project ideas
- learn more about seed funding possibilities
- learn more about ageing in Japan and Sweden
Programme for TEG Ageing workshop- Unlocking potential for new collaborations:
Day 1 September 28: 9:00 am-12 noon (CEST) - 16 pm-19 pm (JST)
Keynote: Ageing in Japan and Sweden (15-20 minutes)
Speakers: Professor Ken Osaka, Tohoku University and Associate Professor Anna Sandgren, Linnaeus University.
Presentations and reflections on the view of ageing in Japan and Sweden.
Keynote: Past, present and future TEG ageing (20 minutes)
Speakers: Professor Takayuki Akimoto, Waseda University and Professor Carl-Johan Boraxbekk, Umeå University.
Presentation of TEG ageing and the three topics.
Long term purpose and goal of TEG ageing and how this and the workshop fit with the larger MIRAI 2.0 goal.
Researchers divided in groups for working with project ideas, mentored by senior researchers:
- researchers that have already found a counterpart for a project application
- researchers that have not yet found a counterpart but is looking for one (the TEG should form the groups based on information collected during registration)

Keynote: Experiences of research collaboration between Japan and Sweden (15 minutes)
Speaker: Associate Professor Ayako Hiyoshi, Örebro University
Keynote: MIRAI and beyond- a successful collaboration from MIRAI 2017 (15 minutes)
Speakers: Assistant Professor Rong Fu and Professor Haruko Noguchi, Waseda University with Associate Professor Mojgan Padyab and Associate Professor Glenn Sandström, Umeå University
Presentation of the call for seed funding (10 minutes)
