Dynamical Systems

Dynamical systems becomes an important field when we try understanding the interaction of observables in a large system. Linear systems are quite well understood but building up a complete theory for nonlinear systems is more difficult. In this course simple nonlinear maps are studied and they are characterized by the fact that they have a quite typical behavior and that they change in a typical way as the environmental conditions change. We conclude that it is relatively simple to provide examples of interesting phenomena provided the system is sufficiently complicated but considerably more difficult to limit the possible behavior.
