Environmental Technology for Sustainable Development

The course starts with an introduction to ecology and human ecology to increase the awareness about the interactions between human society and the surrounding nature and the ecosystem services. The second part of the course treats natural resources and human activity from an over-all perspective. This part of the course also contains training in information search and scientific writing. Finally, the course focuses on the conditions for industrial production and the professional role of the engineer. Environmental management schemes as well as environmental legislation are treated. The aim of the course is to generate an awareness of the necessity for an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable development, lifestyle and production system.

In Kalmar, Linnaeus University is located in the city centre. Universitetskajen is entirely newly-built and located just next to the sea. Here you become part of a creative knowledge environment.
