This course treats mathematical methods used in mathematics, physics and engineering. An important starting point is series expansions of periodic as well as non-periodic functions in trigonometric basis functions. A theory for such so-called Fourier series is studied in the course and is then applied to construct solutions to partial differential equations of general interest in different branches of physics and engineering like acoustic and electromagnetic wave propagation.
