The demand for teachers who are well equipped to face the challenges of a multicultural classroom is increasing
at the same pace as globalisation moves forward. Having studied this course and it’s continuation, 1MD162 , you will be able to understand, discuss and explain several aspects of mathematics education with an international perspective.

The course focuses on: mathematics as a school subject, primary school children’s learning of mathematics, and the teaching of mathematics in primary school. There is also focus on how mathematics as a school subject differs between countries, cultures and curricula.
