Modern Marketing Practices

The purpose of this full-semester course is to give the students an overview of some of the most important areas of marketing including:

• awareness of the complexities of consumer buying behaviour and decision-making as well as knowledge of theories concerning these issues

• the main themes of international marketing with an emphasis on international marketing research and entry strategy/modes. At the end of the course this knowledge will have been furthered to the extent that the students will be knowledgeable of what is happening in the research field of international marketing and will be able to incorporate into this bank of knowledge coming developments with the help of their research skills

• the main themes in strategy, connecting the companies resources with the market. The importance of company competencies in relation to the external situation is extensively explored

• the application of strategy theories on situations facing industries and companies in the changing environment
