The Finite Element Method
7.5 creditsThis course is given within the master programs in civil engineering and mechanical engineering and gives you basic knowledge in the Finite Element Method (FEM). The method is frequently used for computations in different fields of engineering. The course is focused on heat conduction and elasticity problems, but the theory is presented such it could be applied to different areas of applications. The fundamental principles and the essential assumptions in the mathematical models are presented and relevant FE-formulations are derived and used in computer analysis.
