In order to facilitate support, we may sometimes need to see what you see. In these cases, we use TeamViewer. If needed, you will be guided by our support technician over the phone how to proceed.
Support of private computer
IT-support does not give support on private applications or private equipment. However, we can help you to access our services on your private devices.
IT-support takes no responsibility for any errors that may occur on your private computer in connection with we give you support.
Our IT services
Below a list of IT services that you as a student have access to. In the Service Portal you will find FAQs and guides for these services.
As a student at Linnaeus University you will get a student account that you use when you log in to university services.
From this date you can retrieve a student account, depending on what term you are admitted for:
Summer term 2018: May 3 2018 (international students 2018-05-22)
Autumn term 2018: August 7 2018
Spring term 2019: December 25 2018
MASTERHT18 - tuitionfee paying students: April 7 2018
MASTERHT18 - non fee paying students: May 21 2018
IKHT18 - tuitionfee paying students: April 20 2018
IKHT18 - non fee paying students: May 21 2018
NOTE! International students will automatically get a one-time code from the IT Office by email some time after the dates above. They can not log in using the account for Universityadmission.se when getting a student account.
Your admission to courses/programs at Linnaeus University must have been transmitted to our study administrative support system (Ladok) before you can create a new student account or reactivate an old account at a start of a new semester.
Mail from Linnaeus University is sent to your student email address. It is therefore important that you regularly check your student email or forward it to another email address. Linnaeus University uses Google's Gmail for student e-mails. Use the same login as to your student account.
Log in to your student mail, https://mail.student.lnu.se.
As a student, you can save your files at the university’s file storage servers. Files and folders that you store here can be accessed even when you are outside the university at https://wfm.lnu.se. Use the same login as to your student account.
There are also cloud services linked to your student account that you can use for file storage:
Google Drive, service that’s included in your student mail.
Microsoft OneDrive, part of Office 365. Read more about Office 365 for students.
Eduroam, Wi-Fi for students
As a student at Linnaeus University, you connect to the wireless network called eduroam (educational roaming), which is an encrypted and secure network.
To connect to eduroam, your device may need to be configured before you connect the first time, then it will automatically be connected.
Guide for downloading the settings for eduroam
You need to add @lnu.se after your student accounts username when you log on to eduroam, for example firstname.lastname@example.org. The password is the same as to your student account.

LNU-Guest, Wi-Fi for guests
Guests with an active Lnu guest account can connect to the wireless network "LNU-Guest".
Printing, copying and scanning
Students at Linnaeus University can print, copy and scan on the public printers available on the university. You can also print from private mobile devices like mobile and tablet.
Payment of the prints is done by the payment service PayEx that you connect to your student account.
Are you going to print or copy a lot can be a good idea to contact the Linnaeus University Copycenter.
Some lectures, meetings and seminars at Linnaeus University are held web-based via a meeting room in the web conferencing system “Adobe Connect “ or "Zoom". Or via our video conferencing rooms equipped for distance meetings with audio and video.

Linnaeus University provides some software that you as a student have access to during your studies, for instance SPSS and Office 365.
