Each year Linnaeus University offers scholarships to outstanding students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland through the programme "Linnaeus University Scholarships" and "Linnaeus University Scholarship for Current Students"
Information about Scholarship Opportunities at Linnaeus University
Linnaeus University offers two differens scholarship programmes for the moment, Linnaeus University Scholarship and Linnaeus University Scholarship for Current Student.
Linnaeus University Scholarship programme is offered for students who study master programmes. Students can only apply for this scholarship before commencing the programme.
Linnaeus University for Current Students is offered for students who are already enrolled in a two- or three-year lasting programme at Linnaeus University. Students can only apply for this scholarship after commencing the programme.
What does the scholarship include?
Up to 75% reduction of the tuition fees for the rest of the programme. The scholarships is initially granted for one semester, but will automatically be extended for the duration of the study program (2 up to 4 semesters), provided that study results are satisfactory.
What does the scholarship NOT include?
The scholarship does not cover living costs or other costs.

Information about the scholarship
The scholarship covers 75 percent of the tuition fee, please see details regarding the application below. There are no scholarships available for the spring semester. Next application round will open February 8, 2021 for students that will commence their studies at Linnaeus University during autumn 2021.
There are a number of scholarships available, each providing up to a 75 percent tuition fee waiver for the full programme. The scholarships will initially be granted for one semester, but will automatically be extended for the duration of the study program (2 up to 4 semesters), provided that study results are satisfactory.
You are eligible to apply if you:
- are from a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
- have applied for a master programme at Linnaeus University via www.universityadmissions.se, before January 15 AND have sent/ uploaded all required documents before February 1.
- have chosen Linnaeus University as their first choice on their application on www.universityadmissions.se
- pay the application fee to www.universityadmissions.se before February 1.
- have filled out the application form before the deadline of the application.
Based on which criteria will Linnaeus University select the students who will be awarded scholarships?
Linnaeus University's decision to award scholarships will primarily be based on the students' academic merits. Usually this is based on the CGPA, but the ranking of the previous university and the students' proficiency in English will also be considered. Linnaeus University also favors an even distribution of students when it comes to country of origin and gender.
Who funds the scholarships?
Linnaeus University receives funding from a fund powered by the Swedish government.
Timeline for Linnaeus University Scholarship
End of January/Beginning of February - All students who have applied for a Linnaeus University masterprogramme on www.universityadmissions.se as their first choice will get an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship along with a link to the application form. Make sure to check your junk mail/spam folder. The email is sent out in the beginning of February.
February 8, 2021 - Application opens
February 18, 2021 - Application closes at 13.00 (1.00 PM CET, Central European Time)
End of April/ Beginning of May - Announcement of who will be receiving a scholarship from Linnaeus University
Application
All students who have applied for a Linnaeus University masterprogramme on www.universityadmissions.se as their first choice will get an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship along with a link to the application form. Make sure to check your junk mail/spam folder. The email will be sent out in the beginning of February.
The deadline for the application is February 18, 2021, 13.00 (1.00 PM CET). Remember that it is important to fully complete your application on www.universityadmissions.se and to submit the application form in order to qualify for our scholarship. Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

How to apply
1. Make your programme application at www.universityadmissions.se by January 15th. You have to choose Linnaeus University as your first choice.
2. Fill out the Scholarship application form along with the required documents, which are listed below before the deadline that is mentioned above.

The motivation letter should contain a maximum of 600 words. Please answer the following questions in your motivation letter:
- Why do you want to study this programme at Linnaeus University?
- What other qualities do you have besides academic excellence?

Information about the scholarship
This Scholarship is for students already enrolled in a two- or three-year lasting programmes at Linnaeus University at bachelor or master level, The scholarships cover 75 percent of the tuition fee. The scholarships will initially be granted for one semester, but will automatically be extended for the duration of the study program (2 up to 4 semesters), provided that study results are satisfactory.
The scholarship is announced under the condition that scholarship funding is secured. The scholarship funding has been secured which means that there will be an opportunity to apply for the Scholarship for Current Students at Linnaeus University during the spring semester 2021. Please see the information on "How to Apply" below for further information. Application will open on 31st of May, 2021, last day to apply is 7th of June, 2021 at 13.00 (1.00 PM, Swedish time).
You are eligible to apply if you:
- Students who are from a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
- Students already enrolled in a two- or three-year lasting programme at Linnaeus University at bachelor or master level.
- Must be registered on full time studies during Spring 2021
- Passed at least 30 credits within your programme
Based on which criteria will Linnaeus University select the students who will be awarded scholarships?
Linnaeus University's decision to award scholarships will be based on study completion and grades of the previous year/years of your programme. With study completion, we mean the number of credits that you have passed in comparison to the possible number of credits that you could have taken. CV and motivation letter is not required.
How to apply
The application will open on the 31st of May, 2021. Last day to Apply is 7th of June, 13.00 (Swedish time, 1.00 PM), 2021.
