During the day, you will meet PhD holders in the humanities who will share their experiences - both within the academy and from exciting career paths outside the university walls. This is an opportunity to gain new perspectives and start shaping your own path after your PhD.

Registration is available further down the page. The deadline for registration is 31 October.

Beate Schirrmacher, Department of Film and Literature, Linnaeus University

A brief introduction to career paths in the humanities, based on Humtank’s work. The focus is on how humanities expertise – such as the ability to interpret complex contexts and cultural expressions – is needed both within and beyond academia. For all future work, to obtain research funding, collaborate, and find future workplaces, one must be aware of the relevance of one’s research beyond the subject itself. How can this be identified and articulated? And conversely – how can the contemporary context become relevant to one’s own research?
