Good study habits are essential for academic success. Our lectures provide guidance in planning your studies, effective reading strategies, academic writing and stress management. The lectures are geared towards new students but all students at Linnaeus University are welcome to attend.

The lecture series is in association with the Academic Support Centre and the Student Welfare Office.

What does it mean to write academically? This lecture is a general introduction to academic writing. We will cover the important features of academic writing such as structure, language and referencing.


An effective oral presentation involves what you say, how you say it and the visual aids you use. This lecture will cover how to structure and organize oral presentations for use in academic and professional situations.


Do you ever wonder why you get stressed? Do you want to learn how to handle your stress better? This lecture will help you understand yourself and your reactions to stress better. Most importantly, you will learn how to deal with your stress.


Would you like to improve your study skills in order to help you succeed in your studies? This lecture will introduce you to reading strategies, taking effective lecture notes and planning your studies.


All lectures are 60 minutes.
