Interest in LinnéReads has been very strong, and most of our spring book clubs are now full. However, there are still places available in the English-language book club in Kalmar and in the online. We warmly welcome you to sign up for one of these.
What is LinnéReads?
We offer book clubs in Kalmar and Växjö in both Swedish and English. Besides discussing books and sharing reading experiences, we hope the book club will provide an opportunity to meet new people. It can also be a chance to dive deeper into a specific topic, theme, or authorship. The book clubs are led by dedicated staff from the university library.
Good to know
- Voluntary and in your free time: The book club is voluntary and not part of the curriculum.
- Limited number of participants: First come, first served, so sign up now!
- Free of charge: The book club is free, and you will receive the book we are reading. We also provide refreshments at the meetings.
- What is expected of you as a participant?: You read a certain number of pages from the book before each meeting.
Format
Four meetings: A kick-off, two meetings where we discuss the book, and a concluding author talk.
Author talk: Open to everyone, but book club participants have priority.
Time and place: The meetings are held at the university library in Växjö and Kalmar, from 17:00 to 18:00.
