Closed at the University Library in Växjö summer 2026
From May 18 to August 16, parts of the University Library in Växjö will be closed, with limited access to books and study spaces.
Work is being carried out in the library during the summer, and some areas will be completely closed. Access to study spaces and collections will be limited.
We recommend planning ahead if you need to borrow or collect materials. Digital resources remain available 24/7.

The University Library in Växjö will be completely closed due to noise levels and dust caused by floor sanding. During this period, you can still reserve books from floors 0 and 1 (the storage collection and the 000–300 sections), as well as course literature for summer courses.
- Reserved and requested books can be picked up and borrowed from Infocenter in the H building, Växjö. Please bring your reservation notice along with ID or your access card.Opening hours: https://lnu.se/en/meet-linnaeus-university/contact-and-visit-us/
- Books are returned via the book drop at the entrance of the university library.
- During the period when the library is closed, SMP and DN are available to read at the Information Center.
- Distance services may also be affected during the summer.

Will any books in Växjö be available?
Throughout the entire period, you will have access to books on floors 1 and 0, which includes books in the 000–300 sections as well as materials in storage. When the library is closed from June 8 to July 5, you can request books from these sections.
I will be taking a summer course. Will my course books be available?
Yes, they are not packed away and will be available on a special shelf on floor 1. When the library is closed from June 8 to July 5, you can reserve the course literature and borrow it from Infocenter. For fiction, we refer you to the city library. Your local library may have some of the literature available.
Can I request books from Kalmar?
Yes, you can request books from Kalmar.
Can I borrow books while the library is closed?
Yes. From June 8 to July 5, you can borrow books from Infocenter in the H building.
Where do I pick up reserved books when the library is closed?
From June 8 to July 5, you can pick up and borrow reserved books at Infocenter in the H building.
Can I return books?
Yes. You return books via the book drop at the entrance of the university library.
