Applying for a library account
You can get your library account by filling in the library account application form. The library's distance service is only available for students of Linnaeus University distance courses who live outside the municipalities of Växjö and Kalmar. If we need further information from you, we will contact you. If you do not hear from us it means that your application has been approved.
You are welcome to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you already have a library account but want it to be registered as a distance student account. You are also welcome to contact us if you want to renew your distance student library account.
Books and articles sent home
Printed books and articles that are available at Linnaeus University Library can be sent to your home address if you are a Linnaeus University distance student and live outside the municipalities of Kalmar and Växjö.
You are also entitled to our distance service if you are studying at Linnaeus University in Hultsfred, Oskarshamn, Västervik or at CIL in Ljungby.
Please note that we only send books and articles within the Nordic region. You pay for the postage yourself when returning books.
You can order books directly in our search engine OneSearch. First, look up the book and click "Order/reserve". Then choose "Distance service" as pick-up location. If the book is out on loan you can choose to make a reservation. Go to our page Loan regulations and fees for information about loan periods.
If you require an article from one of the library's printed journals, we can send a copy to your home address. Please contact our distance service at email@example.com to order articles.
If you are unable to make orders or reservations it may be due to overdue fines. Log in to My account to see any fines you may have. You can either pay at the library (amounts up to SEK 300) or to Linnaeus University's bank account (Bankgiro) in Danske Bank. The account number is 454-4383. Please provide the following information on the payment form: the name and personal Swedish identity number of the person the payment concerns, what the payment is for, and the reference code 1500. Please note that Bankgiro payments are only possible within Sweden.
You are welcome to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Borrowing from other libraries
If you require literature that is not available at our library, we recommend an interlibrary loan.
Books: Please observe that interlibrary loans will not be sent to your home address. You must be able to pick up the book yourself or read it at the library in Kalmar or Växjö. Another option is to ask your public library for help with interlibrary loans.
Copies of articles that we order from other libraries can be sent to you at a certain cost. The easiest way to make such an order is by filling in the form Interlibrary loan – order an article copy.
