Lnu Swipe Card
Q. I don’t have an LNU swipe card. How do I get one?
Answer: If you are a student or staff member at LNU you can apply for a card here: lnukortet.lnu.se
Q. Why is it taking so long for my LNU card to be delivered?
Answer: The Lnu card is sent to your home address. If there is an error with the address information the card is sent to the Infocenter. If you still haven’t received your card, check with the Infocenter.
Q. My card isn’t working. What do I do then?
Answer: You can email us at sakerhet@lnu.se
Q. Does my card work in Kalmar even though I applied for the card in Växjö (and vice versa)?
Answer: Yes, students have access in both Kalmar and Växjö.
Q. I’m a student at another university, can I pick up my reserved books and use UB’s study rooms?
Answer: Yes, you are welcome during the library’s regular opening hours. During the library’s self-service hours a Lnu swipe card is required to entering the building.
Borrowing Books
Q. I want to keep a borrowed book for a longer period even though the maximum loan period has been reached. What can I do about this?
Answer: Contact us via telephone, chat or email so we can see how we can help you with this.
Q. Can I leave a Kalmar-book in Växjö (and vice versa)?
Answer: Yes, you can.
Q. Can I order books from the other campus?
Answer: Yes, you can but it might take a few days for the book to arrive.
Q. How do I pick up interlibrary loans
Answer: Come to the library during the opening hours.
Q. I’m not able to pick up my reserved book. What do I do?
Answer: Contact us via telephone, chat or email.
Q. I can’t return my books. Can I renew the loan period?
Answer: Contact us via telephone, chat or email.
Q. Can I reserve books that are on the shelf?
Answer: No, you can come to the library during the opening hours and pick up the books you want to borrow, as per normal procedures.
Q. Can I return books without going into the library?
Answer: Yes, the book return slot is open 24 hours a day.
- In Kalmar it is located by the entrance to Stella.
- In Växjö it is located outside the entrance of UB.
Q. If it says that a book is not available until the return date, does that mean that the book will be available again on that date?
Answer: If the book is not reserved, the loan period will automatically be renewed. If the book has been reserved it should be returned on the given date.
Q. Can I borrow course reference books?
Answer: No, you cannot bring course reference books home but you can use them at the library.
Q. Can I get books sent to my home address?
Answer: We are unable to send books to a home address. Students need to be able to pick up the books at the library.
If you are studying as a distance student at LNU the distance services continue as usual.
Student Account
Q. I forgot my password to my student account. Can you help me?
Answer: You can read about issues concerning your student account at the Service Portal.
Library Account
Q. I forgot my pin code to my library account. What should I do?
Answer: Log in to my “My Account” and change your code.
Group Room
Q. When can I book a group room at UB?
Answer: On account of the coronavirus you can only book a group room at the Library during the University Library opening hours, and please observe that only half of the seats are allowed in each group room.
Opening Hours
Why does the library have limited opening hours?
During the ongoing circumstances, we have a responsibility to keep track of how many people are in the premises to avoid congestion and gatherings of people. Having limited opening hours makes it easier for us to keep track of people coming and going. LNU’s information page about Corona states the following: “We encourage students who do not have scheduled teaching to study at home as much as possible. General Public
Q. I’m not a student or staff member at LNU. Can I still borrow books and use UB as a study place?
