Don't be afraid, be prepared
Here is the training ‘Don't be afraid, be prepared’ in digital form. It addresses how we at Linnaeus University should act in the event of a so-called PDV event. The abbreviation PDV stands for ongoing deadly violence and is used as a term for different types of attacks in a public environment.
If an ongoing deadly violence incident (abbreviated PDV incident) occurs at a school and there are firearms involved, it is also commonly referred to as a ‘school shooting’.
Employers have a responsibility for the work environment and this responsibility includes working preventively and reducing risks. Part of this is to develop and inform employees about how to act in different situations.
It is unlikely that Linnaeus University will be affected by a PDV event, but if this were to happen, the consequences could be devastating.
The training has been developed in collaboration with the police training programme at Linnaeus University and the Department of Health and Caring Sciences. It is carried out by Martin Olsson and Henrik Berglund, assistant professors at the Department of Health and Caring Sciences, and Carl-Johan Snygg and Patrick Martinsson at the Police Education and Training Programme.
The programme is divided into four recorded lectures
