For you who work at one of the faculties

The next Academic Ceremony at Linnaeus University will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025. At the ceremony, new doctors will be conferred their doctoral degrees and new professors will be inaugurated. Awards and medals will also be handed out.

2024

September 30
Five proposals from each faculty for the invitation list. External guests of importance to the faculty. Including guest professors with a maximum of 20% part-time employment.

September 30
The nomination period för Badge of Merit ends. Read more about how to nominate here.

October 1
Inform the communications office about who has been appointed honorary doctor as soon as the honorary doctor has accepted the nomination, but October 1 the latest. Let us know who is the contact person for the honorary doctor. Being a contact person means being responsible for all contact with and handling all practical arrangements leading up to the visit by the honorary doctor. Week 43
The first round of invitations to the ceremony are sent out, the earliest.

November 14
Final day to apply for a doctoral degree or to accept an appointment as professor in order to be conferred a doctoral degree or to be inaugurated as professor in 2025.

November 15
Inform the communications office who has been appointed with badge of merit.

December 6
Appointment of promoter. Send details to akademiskhogtid@lnu.se
