Chemical safety

Chemical safety means that the activity must comply with the laws and regulations that exist regarding the storage, use and waste management of chemicals and flammable goods.

Some chemicals require special permits and/or notification before they can be used. There are also chemicals that are not allowed to be used in teaching. As a user, you have a responsibility to know the risks and ensure that we have a safe working environment.

‘Hazardous chemicals’ means that the contents may pose an increased risk of harm to people or the environment if handled carelessly
