Alcohol and other drugs are an important work environment issue and the policy is a guiding document that clarifies Linnaeus University's approach to the use of alcohol and drugs in the workplace. Alcohol refers to beverages with an alcohol content exceeding 2.25%. Drugs refer to narcotics, non-prescription drugs, doping substances and other substances and solvents taken for the purpose of intoxication.

At Linnaeus University, it is not allowed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs in connection with work or study activities. If problems arise with the use/abuse of alcohol or other drugs, it is important to deal with this quickly and professionally. Occupational health care is a resource in work environment and rehabilitation work for both managers and employees at Linnaeus University and can contribute with the following in terms of alcohol and drugs:

  • Medical assessment and advice
  • psychosocial assessment and support measures
  • Alcohol and drug testing

The HR department provides support for managers in the organisation. The Student Health Service works preventively and with concrete measures for students.
