Keep up to date

Our staff pages – Staff – are our primary channel of communication, and it is important that you read the information that is published here. There are many ways in which you can modify the presentation of information on Staff to suit your own needs. You may, for instance, choose to show what groups you are a member of; you may create your own personal shortcuts, and so on. You log in with your staff account to get access to all information. Newly employed?

Welcome to your department/faculty office and to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities! As newly employed staff, you will be introduced to the faculty by your immediate superior (or someone appointed by them). You also find much information on the university’s central staff page Newly employed.

In addition to your closest colleagues, you can meet with the rest of the faculty staff in our staff common rooms. There are usually common coffee breaks between 9.30 and 10.30 am, and 2.30 and 3.30 pm.

A couple of times a year all faculty staff gather for a faculty conference on selected themes, and the year ends with a Christmas party for all staff.

Work environment and health

The heads of department, the Administrative director, and the Director of the Fojo Media Institute are responsible for their respective areas of the work environment.

Safety, fire prevention and fire protection

The university has a fire safety plan, specifying who should do what in case of a fire. Your immediate superior is responsible for informing you about assembly sites in case of emergency evacuation. For more information, please visit the staff page about fire safety at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (only available in Swedish).

In your capacity as a teacher or an invigilator, you too have an important role in case of emergency evacuation. You should take command and lead your group to the assembly site. The same applies to those responsible for visitors at the university.

Purchase and procurement

For any purchases or procurements you may need to make, Linnaeus University has framework agreements for the most common products and services. This means that there are specific providers and suppliers that you should turn to with any orders. For more information, please visit the Swedish staff page .

When you place an order or make a purchase, you need to include the reference code – that is, the four-digit number indicating which segment should be charged with the cost. Travel

The university has an agreement with a travel agency, and all travel should be arranged in accordance with the established travel policy. You find all the information you need about travel policy, booking, renting cars, hotels, train travel between Växjö and Kalmar, etc on the about travel.

Copy centre

The university has a copy centre in Växjö where employees can order printouts, enlargements, printing of teaching materials, etc. For more information, please visit the Swedish staff page.

Representation

If you are going to entertain or host a conference, there are certain regulations that you need to keep in mind.

IT support

The central IT Office provides support for all staff regarding computers, equipment in lecture rooms, etc. For more information, please visit the staff page IT support for employees.

The central Communications Office is responsible for providing support for external and internal communication. This work also involves several staff at the Faculty Office. Student recruitment and student communication

Planning and prioritisation of student recruitment and student communication is carried out by the faculty’s reference group, of which the chair of the Education Board and the administrative director are members. For up-to-date information, we encourage you to join the Staff group (note that you need to log in to Staff in order to join).

 The Faculty Office

 The Faculty Office provides administrative support for teachers, students, heads of department and the heads of faculty. We serve different functions and are divided between Växjö and Kalmar, although most of our work is not tied specifically to either campus.
