The Faculty Office of Arts and Humanities
The Faculty Office is a supporting body for teachers, students, heads of department and the Heads of Faculty. We serve different functions and are divided between Växjö and Kalmar, although most of our work is not tied specifically to either campus.
Finances
We support managerial positions, teachers and researchers in financial matters.
- The controller works across faculties with budgets, follow-ups, prognoses and final accounts. The controller also manages financial supporting documents for the faculty board.
- The financial managers work with budgets, follow-ups, prognoses, final accounts and project calculations/accounting for external projects.
- The financial administrators handle supplier invoices, client invoices, travel expenses and other expenses, wellness benefit and fee notes.

Research and research training
We serve as administrative support for researchers, centres of excellence and doctoral students at the faculty, which includes
- coordination of the centres of excellence Concurrences and Intermedial and Multimodal Studies
- administration of research training programmes
- secretarial work for the three doctoral supervisory committees at the faculty
Sustainable development and equal opportunities
We plan, organise and coordinate faculty activities concerning sustainable development and equal opportunities. We also support the departments in their individual work with these issues.
In our work with sustainability and equal opportunities we focus on three goals:
- To broaden and deepen aspects of sustainability and equal opportunities in programmes and courses
- To broaden and deepen aspects of sustainability and equal opportunities in research and research training at the faculty
- To improve ways of working at the faculty in relation to sustainability and equal opportunities
Our work also includes:
- preparing operational plans
- preparing activity reports
- support in cases of internal environmental certification
- preparation and coordination of external environmental certification
Internationalisation
We coordinate, administer and secure the quality of processes involved in internationalisation at the faculty, and support the faculty in different internationalisation issues. In addition to this, we are also part of the networks handling administrative issues involved in internationalisation.

ICT educational support
Information and communication technology (ICT) is the part of information technology (IT) that builds on communication between people.
We provide support and cooperate with you on matters of ICT, including:
- Digital education/Blended learning – digital pedagogical resources in teaching
- Digital course planning, design and development of digital classrooms in MyMoodle
- Administration and support in MyMoodle
- Some (further) training in our digital systems, such as the learning platform MyMoodle, e-meetings via Zoom, the media service LnuPlay, and the survey tool Survey & Report
- Guidance regarding, and sounding board for, issues to do with ICT.

Coordination of rooms
The workplace coordinator works with:
- Inventory of premises and equipment
- Fire safety checks
- Support for specialised music and image premises (paid for by the department)
- Ordering newspapers and fruit
- Documentation of chemical management for two departments
- Review of legal compliance in the environmental field
- Environmental audits (perform and support internal audits at FKH)
Study and career guidance
We offer professional consultation and career support in order to motivate and inspire students to formulate and achieve their goals. This may concern:
- educational options and alternatives
- study situation and individual study planning
- what courses/programmes may lead to – career planning
- building one’s own degree
- credit transfer and issues to do with qualification/entry requirements
- approved leave from studies

Student recruitment and student communication
The faculty has a contact person at the Communications Office, dealing with matters of student recruitment and student communication. The contact person assists with any matters regarding student recruitment to, and student communication at, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. A reference group for student recruitment meets a couple of times each semester, to discuss current issues and projects, and to secure the faculty’s participation in student recruitment projects and events.
Support for the Heads of Faculty
The heads of faculty support function provides administrative support to the Heads of Faculty and the Faculty Board. This includes, among other things, drafting and secretarial functions for the faculty’s decision-making and drafting bodies.
Duties include, among other things:

- operational and process planning
- administration of audits and referrals
- communication
- handling quality matters
- handling matters of collaboration
- handling strategic matters

Support for the head of department
The head of department support function provides administrative support to the head of department, especially as regards drafting and decision-making meetings.
Duties include, among other things:
- drafting head of department decisions
- documenting and executing head of department decisions
- updating the department’s staff pages
- planning meetings and conferences
- requesting IT accounts for new staff

Education Administration
We perform education administrative processes with the same quality and level of service at all departments. We provide administrative support for staff and students as regards many of the university’s different systems. This includes, among many other things:
- administration of courses and studies in Ladok, NyA-webben and Kursinfo
- registration and admission
- administration of examinations
- publication of degree projects in DiVa
- credit transfer (excluding exchange studies)
- administration of syllabi
