Research environments at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities
At the Faculty of Arts and Humanities research is carried out in a large number of individual projects, as well as in research collaborations that often transcend traditional boundaries between academic subjects. Here is an overview of our groups of researchers:
Linnaeus University Centre

Research groups
- The UNESCO Chair on Heritage Futures at Linnaeus University is one of eight UNESCO chairs in Sweden, held by Cornelius Holtorf, professor of Archaeology. Questions for the team of researchers supporting the chair include: When will the future that we work for happen? How do we decide what is good for future generations? How can we support professionals in the cultural heritage sector in searching for answers to these questions, and in thinking about the future (futures literacy).
- The research group Litteracitet och undervisning studies children’s spoken and written language competence and production, as well as how teaching that stimulates language development may be conducted so that learning is promoted in preschool and the early school years.
- Digital Humanities is an interdisciplinary initiative focusing on societal challenges and innovation.
