Sustainability at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities
At the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, sustainable development is identified as an area of great focus. Staff at the faculty are highly engaged in, and knowledgeable about, matters of sustainability; we conduct successful research and offer an attractive array of courses and programmes in the field.
On this page we have gathered information about our work, which may interest anyone employed at the faculty.
Faculty goals for sustainable development
- To broaden and deepen aspects of sustainable development in the faculty’s programmes and courses;
- To broaden and deepen aspects of sustainability in the faculty’s research and research training;
- To improve ways of working at the faculty in terms of sustainable development.
What sustainability issues are we working with?
During 2022
- a manual for course coordinators on how to label courses relative to Agenda 2030 will be produced;
- all staff members will be invited to lunch seminars where faculty teachers and researchers will give presentations;
- all staff members will be offered courses in the field of sustainability;
- researchers at the faculty will be offered workshops in order to enhance Agenda 2030 competence for external applications;
- faculty networks for sustainability issues will be created;
… and much more.
How do we work with sustainability issues?
We work with activities involving the faculty as a whole, to which all staff are invited, as well as with activities at the respective departments, based on need.
Whom should I contact in matters of sustainability?
Kristina Johansson, faculty administrator
Kristina puts together suggestions for activities at the faculty level. She helps realise activities at the faculty level and, upon request, at the department level. She also handles documentation of sustainability matters.

Networks for sustainability issues at the faculty
Network for teachers who have taken the course Education for Sustainable Development.
The network meets to discuss developments in education and sustainability.

The network discusses and develops activities, informs the departments, and informs about activities at the departments.

Course
The course Education for Sustainable Development is a course that aims to develop different kinds of teaching materials on the theme of sustainability, as well as to show how said materials can be used in teaching.
The course also targets administrative staff who work with and/or are interested in sustainability.
