Closing ceremoni FTK

During the ceremony, representatives from the faculty and student associations give speeches. Musical entertainment is a natural part of the program, where musicians and singers—often from local music schools or our own music programs—offer live music. During the ceremony, several scholarships from various foundations are also awarded each year. The graduation period is very special, not only for the students but also for their relatives, who are warmly welcomed to participate.
The faculty office is responsible for booking venues, planning the program, and sending invitations to the ceremonies. The ceremony does not affect the issuance of degree certificates. Students apply for their certificates themselves in Ladok, once they have completed their studies. All students in their final year are welcome to participate, regardless of whether they have completed all their courses or not.
At the Maritime Academy, it has become a tradition to hold an open house in connection with the graduation, where graduating students proudly show their friends and family around the educational environment, such as facilities, labs, and special equipment.
