Degree projects, Faculty of Technology
This page is a collection of routines for degree projects at the faculty of technology.
Moodle-room
The faculty has a shared room on Moodle that all students in their final year of undergraduate programs have access to. The page gathers general resources for students, such as a Word template for independent work, resources from the university library and study workshop, and general information about independent work.
The information is available in both Swedish and English.
The Course Coordinators are responsible for other information about independent work.
DiVA
Thesis is a public document and should, according to the Freedom of the Press Act, be stored and provided upon request. Linnaeus University has decided to store students' thesis in the Digital Scientific Archive (DiVA). See the Rector's Resolution 2022-10-13.
The student must register their information in DiVA and, in connection with this, decide how the work will be published.
Students' thesis should be registered in DiVA according to one of three principles:
- All information about the work, including the full text, is freely accessible.
- All information about the work is accessible except the full text.
- All information about the work is hidden and can only be retrieved by authorized administrators.
Exceptions apply to thesis containing confidential information. As soon as a thesis is deemed to contain or may contain confidential information, an agreement between the student and the external party must be established. The agreement should specify the type of confidentiality involved and its duration. The thesis is sent to the registrar according to a specific process description.
Thesis that is not registered by the student in DiVA is eventually registered by the responsible educational administrator. The examiner shall provide the final version of the thesis to the educational administrator. FTK has an internal routine for reporting results and publishing thesis in DiVA. The entry of grades for thesis is done by the education administrator, read more here. Contact your administrator if you have questions about this routine.
Preventing plagarism
In the MyMoodle room for independent work, there is a link to Refero - an anti-plagiarism guide.
LNU's common system for checking and identifying plagiarism in student work is Ouriginal. More information on how it works can be found on Staff.
