Project Portfolio Management

The project portfolio management is a drafting and advising body that recommend the Vice-chancellor and the University director to decide in questions concerning the portfolio projects within the Linnaeus University project model.

Mission

The project portfolio management advise the Vice-chancellor and the University director to decide on:

  • which projects that will be portfolio projects,
  • project directives including budget and resources for portfolio projects,
  • approval of final reports for portfolio projects, and
  • discontinuation of portfolio projects

Furthermore, the project portfolio management shall:

  • make relevant input to the project owner and project managers based on the status reports from the portfolio projects, and
  • make relevant input to continued work, based on the final reports from the portfolio projects.

The project portfolio management takes into consideration that development projects shall be prioritized in relation to the goals and strategies, the operational needs, as well as external factors and stakeholders that affect or demand development of the university. The project portfolio management monitors the results of portfolio projects and that the results meet the operational needs and that there are sufficient conditions to deliver and receive the result as well as fulfill the impact goals of the project.

Composition and Members

The project portfolio management has the following composition:

  • University director (chair)
  • Pro vice-chancellor
  • The department managers of the university administration
  • Two administrative directors
  • Two deans
  • Library director
  • One student representative

Administrative directors and Deans are appointed on a two-year mandate period by the University director. The student representative is appointed on a one-year mandate period by the Student union.
