Measurements
The direct measurements and analysis is a continuous process throughout the year.
The indirect measurements are taken throughout the year. One of the indirect measurements is the Program council
Program meeting, analysis
At the yearly program meeting, analysis, the program team makes an analysis of the overall situation based on the direct measurements and analysis and the indirect measurements. This analysis is included in the Program Folder.
Alt.
As long as there is a yearly analysis of all the analyses gathered during the year, which has been discussed by the program team, led by the Program director, and is documented in August/September there does not have to be a specific meeting for Program meeting, analysis.
The analysis might lead to changes in direct measurements through for example:
- changes in where rubrics are measured (change in the Program Folder made by program director)
- attempts to improve the measurements through change of the content of the course such as adding an exam question or changing course instructions (made by course responsible)
- changes in the course syllabus (made by course responsible with the support of program director and staff)
The analysis might also lead to a recognition of a problem which cannot be handled within the program, such as inadequate indirect measurements, issues with admissions, issues with depth of applicants. These types of issues should be brought up by the program director at the QuAMEs.
Program meeting, planning
Led by the program director the program teams meet to plan and discuss the upcoming measurements during the semester.
Program director meetings
At program director meetings problems which cannot be solved within the programs should be brought up, as well as best practice examples.
Results from the meetings could be implemented in both direct (how/what to measure for example) and indirect measurements (how to use the program councils for indirect measurements for example).
SBE central functions
The SBE central functions (at the moment the Education council) should have representatives which are part of the QuAME. This function should try to resolves the common issues found by the program directors, either at the QuAME or in general as a part of their function as a member of the SBE central function. In the cases where the issues cannot be solved at the level of SBE the issues should be brought up at the LNU central functions through such channels as the dialogues with the vice-chancellor, the representative at Council for Education and Learning or the Quality Committee (own translation for Kvalitetsutskottet).
The SBE central functions should report back at the following QuAME, or in urgent cases through other suitable channels.
Results from SBE central functions efforts might be implemented in the indirect measurements (for example the creation of an alumni organization and surveys carried out on them).
LNU central functions
When issues have arisen which cannot be solved at SBE level these issues should be brought up with the LNU central functions.
Results from LNU central functions efforts might be implemented in the indirect measurements (for example a yearly LNU wide student survey.).
