If IT support detects a malfunction of the computer within the warranty period, the product is reported to Dell and they send out techniques to us that will repair it on-site with us (the computer is submitted to IT-support)

No warranty

IT-support can make suggestions on the solution depending on the equipment involved and the fault that is intended.

Laptops

General information about laptops

Delivery time for Latitude is about 3-4 weeks.
Dell laptops does not have a network port/socket
Dell's Latitude 7000 model series does not have a built-in network port/network socket.et.

Should the computer be on Lnu's wired/fixed network or if you use the computer outside of Lnu and need a wired/fixed network, you need to use a network adapter that is plugged into one of the computer's USB-C sockets. Available to order in our webshop (https://lnu.easit.net/selfservice)
Mobile Broadband?

Dells Latitude laptops can be ordered with the option of using mobile broadband (so-called W-WAN).
Please note that this must be stated when ordering the computer and cannot be added afterwards!
This means that the delivery time may be longer than stated above.

Instead of mobile broadband in the computer, we recommend that you use your lnu mobile phone and internet share from it to your lnu computer.

Internet sharing means that you use your mobile phone's connection to a telecom operator to give your lnu computer access to the Internet.
Then your mobile phone creates a wireless network that the computer connects to. It also works on other types of devices. Ex private computer or a tablet.

Ordering mobile broadband is done at Infocenter, which is responsible for LNU's mobile phone subscription

Network adapter PC

Dell latest models of Latitude do not have a network port/network socket.

Should the computer be on Lnu's wired/fixed network or if you use the computer outside of Lnu and need a wired/fixed network, you need to use a network adapter that is plugged into one of the computer's USB-C sockets.

Connect computer to monitor

There are a few different ways to connect a new computer to a new or existing monitor.
Either directly to the monitor (via a USB-C cable) or via a so-called docking station
Which of them is determined by what you have now or what monitor model you order

Computer connected directly to the monitor

When you order a new computer and at the same time order a new monitor (with usb-c), or if you already have a usb-c monitor (autumn 2018 or newer), you can connect the monitor to the computer via a USB-C cable and then plug the rest of the peripherals into the monitor's four USB socket. THe monitor comes with a usb-c-cable.
The monitor then provides power to both the computer and the monitor's four USB socket.
If access to more USB sockets is needed, a USB hub can be ordered.

Computer connected to the moniter via a docking station

If you choose to keep your current monitor / monitors and have a docking station WD15, TB16 or WD19S, no new docking station needs to be ordered.

If you choose to keep your current monitor / monitors but do not have a docking station now, a docking station will probably also need to be ordered.
Contact IT support / purchasing for advice.

If you now have one or two 24 "screens without a USB-c socket or a 27" screen without a USB-c socket, a docking station is needed and then you choose the model Dell WD19S 180W.

If you choose to order two 24" monitors with USB-c sockets, no docking station is needed, but then a 24" as above is connected directly to a computer and then the 24" monitors are connected to each other.

If you choose to order two 27" monitors with usb-c sockets, it only works with the docking station and then only with the model
Dell Thunderbolt WD22TB4 180W.

If you choose to order a 34” monitor with a USB-c socket, no docking station is needed. A direct connection between monitor and computer works.

Please note that we do not offer docking stations for Apple Mac.

The monitors from Dell U2421E 24", U2723QE 27", U3223QE 32" and U3425WE 34" have a built-in network port (RJ-45), which means that no separate network adapter is needed.

Desktop computers

General information about desktop computers

Delivery time fo Optiplex 7400 All-In-One and Optiplex 7000 SFF is about 3 weeks.

Optiplex All-In-One (Plus 7420)

("All In One" means a computer built into the monitor).
The computer has a built-in webcam so it is not necessary to order separately.
Corded mouse (Dell MS116) and corded keyboard (Dell KB216) are included.
