Collaboration and donations

We want to strengthen our long-term and close relations with actors in the surrounding community to attract different forms of knowledge, commitment, and philanthropic donations. Collaborations can comprise companies, public sector, foundations, and also alumni and other individuals. With help from the surrounding community, we want to improve our ability to shape education and research of even greater relevance and significance for the development of society; to make Linnaeus University an even stronger knowledge actor in society.

External advisory group

An external advisory group, led by Kristina Alsér, honorary doctor and former county governor of Kronoberg, will be appointed.

Background

In June 2018, the vice-chancellor decided to look into the conditions for starting up fundraising work at Linnaeus University. An external consultancy firm, Brakeley Nordic AB, was procured to carry out a two-part pilot study.

The first part consisted of interviews with a number of key individuals internally at Lnu, and the second part was made up of interviews with a number of external key individuals in our surroundings. The result from the pilot study led to the vice-chancellor initiating an investment in strategic collaborations and donations (fundraising).
