Internationalisation – part of the Linnaeus culture

Internationalisation at Linnaeus University

The fact that internationalisation is a responsibility for all state universities and higher education institutions is outlined in Chapter 1, Section 5 of the Higher Education Act (1992:1434), which states that universities should promote understanding of other countries and international relations in their operations.

From a global perspective, the internationalisation of higher education strengthens the international community and promotes democracy and diversity.

Linnaeus University's internationalisation strategy is a long-term and comprehensive plan aimed at integrating international perspectives into all parts of the institution's activities, from education and research to student and staff exchanges. Internationalisation is a means to achieve the highest quality across the different aspects of the institution's operations. Through international collaborations, English-language programs, and research with global relevance, the university creates an internationally oriented academic environment that prepares students and researchers to meet global challenges and opportunities.

Linnaeus University’s Vision 2030 expresses that the university's activities should be characterised by successful working methods for students' and staff members' intercultural, interdisciplinary, and international learning and co-creation in creative learning environments. The academic activities integrate values such as equal opportunities, gender equality, sustainable development, and internationalisation in order to achieve excellence.
