International exchange and teaching abroad

Several positive effects are achieved through participating in teacher exchange and the opportunities at Linnaeus University are numerous. The goal of teacher exchange is to raise the quality of teaching by providing new knowledge and comparative perspectives. All students can in this way receive the benefits of international higher education, not just those who are mobile.

Another goal for Linnaeus University is to strengthen and deepen relationships and cooperation between various international institutions.

Linnaeus University's partner universities
Linnaeus University has exchange agreements with international universities both at faculty level and university wide. Erasmus agreements, which are subject specific, for example, are always written on faculty level. Please contact the international coordinator at your faculty to receive more information about the faculty specific agreements.

Other financial support for international mobility
In the left column you can read more about the exchange programs administered by the Office of external relations (ER); Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility, STINT Teaching Sabbatical, Erasmus + mobility, Linnaeus-Palme and Lnu strategic grant for teacher mobility. Within the Erasmus programme there is also a possibility for teachers to receive funding for workplace-based continuing professional development (see Funds for staff training mobility in the left column).

Through UHR (Swedish Council for Higher Education) you can apply for funds for an Erasmus+ preparatory visit, which gives you the opportunity to meet with your partners to plan a project within Erasmus+.

STINT offers teachers a grant for teaching a semester at one of their partner institutions in the US or Asia. Focus is on higher educational development. More info to the right and on the STINT homepage.

The Wenner-Gren foundations offers scholarships to invite guest researchers, sabbatical scholarships for research abroad and for shorter travel for doctoral researchers under the age of 40.
