Mobility for doctoral students

International experience during the research studies

As a doctoral student at Linnaeus University you have many opportunities to gain international experience during your research studies. As you are both a student and an employed researcher, you can apply for funds appointed at both groups. For example, you can read courses, attend workshops, gather data for your studies, teach or simply join a research group abroad.

Take this opportunity to gain experience and establish networks and contacts at international level already during your PhD studies! International experience contributes to increased competitiveness in the global market and can open new doors and research opportunities.

Erasmus+ student mobility for studies

In order to participate in an Erasmus+ student mobility, a minimum of three months full-time studies at a partneruniversity in a programme country (within EU/EES) is required. As a doctoral student you have the opportunity to use the time to participate in courses, gather data, writing, or similar.

Erasmus+ student mobility for internship

The internship is to last a minimum of two months and can take place e.g in a company, an organisation, a higher education institute or a research centre in the Erasmus programme countries (within EU/EES). As a doctoral student you may use the internship for gaining research experience, collection of data, and to write on your thesis.

Erasmus+ teaching mobility

A teaching mobility will give you as a doctoral student, possibility to teach abroad with at a Erasmus partner university in a programme country (EU/EES). The duration of the mobility is a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 8 weeks. Teaching of a mimimum of 8 hours per week is required.

Applications are received continuously and have a high success rate.

Erasmus+ staff training

Personalfortbildningen innebär att du kan jobbskugga på ett företag, en organisation eller ett lärosäte, delta i workshops eller i en kortare kurs i ett programland (EU/EES). Fortbildningen ska vara minst två arbetsdagar och upp till en månad (hör av dig till europe@gu.se om det är 5-8 veckor), relaterat till dina arbetsuppgifter.

Strategic funds for mobility outside of EU/EFTA

PhD students at Linnaeus University can apply for a research stay abroad from 2 weeks up to 2 months at a university outside of EU/EFTA. The funds go towards travel and accomodation.

Linnéakademin’s scholarship (in Swedish) funds participation in internationel conferences.

Funding from faculties

Some faculties also have their own funds for which you can apply. For more information, contact the international coordinator at your faculty.
