Early Alert
Early Alert started as a pilot project with the aim to make the support that is available to our students visible and to pick up the students who are at risk of failing their courses. In 2020, the project was used as a working method to increase the share of students who complete their studies and continue to study.
Early Alert is aimed at all students, new and current, as well as new and current international students.
The purpose of the method is to make students aware of the support that is available at the higher education institution. This is done by sending an email to all students at the start of the semester. It is important to make visible and utilise the resources at the higher education institution to help individual students succeed with and complete their studies.
The reason that all students receive this information is that also students who have studied with us for a longer period of time may want to get in touch with, for instance, our Career Centre, get tips from the Academic Support Centre, or contact the Student Welfare Office. Not all students are familiar with these support services even though they have studied with us for a longer period of time.
In accordance with a decision from RUL, the Council for Education and Learning, each faculty and the Board of Teacher Education has a responsibility to conduct follow-ups of students’ results.
