About us

Teaching in BusinessLab

Education

BusinessLab is a creative learning environment where students are offered a strategic portfolio of activities, courses and tools within the School of Business and Economics' various educational areas.

BusinessLab Education is the context where students are challenged to translate and put theory into action. This can, among other things, be expressed in digital simulation tools for decision-making linked to strategies for internationalisation or optimisation of value chains; analysis of search behavior in e-commerce; analog and digital role-playing in the art of having difficult conversations; innovation and development of business models using LEGO Serious Play.

With BusinessLab Education, collaboration and exchange of experience between students, teachers, researchers, companies and organisations is enabled. This in turn contributes to giving students increased competitiveness and employability.

Collaboration

BusinessLab is an innovative collaboration environment where the School of Business and Economics' students, teachers and researchers together with organisations and companies are given the opportunity to translate science and entrepreneurial drive into projects and sharp business cases.

BusinessLab Collaboration invites companies and organisations to get close to the School of Business and Economics' students, teachers and researchers. This can, for example, mean guest lectures in courses, business cases, problem-solving workshops or student competitions. BusinessLab can also come to companies and organisations through inspirational and competence-enhancing lectures by teachers and researchers, teacher/researcher-led workshops, investigations and smaller as well as larger research projects.

For companies and organisations, there is the opportunity to become a collaboration partner.

Research

BusinessLab is a dynamic environment where the School of Business and Economics' researchers and research students start with relevant and current problems. It can either be a problem for individual companies/organisations or something that concerns a group, industry or society at large.

BusinessLab Research has a strong focus on applied research, which includes analysing, developing and testing new ideas, models and theories related to the School of Business and Economics' various research groups and knowledge environments.

BusinessLab on site and digitally

The work in the School of Business and Economics' BusinessLab takes place both on our digital platform, on site in our BusinessLab premises on the Kalmar and Växjö campuses, and in hybrid form.

BusinessLab's digital platform is the place where everything related to BusinessLab is available.

BusinessLab's premises are places that enable and invite interactivity, mobility and creativity. The premises on the Kalmar campus were opened in the spring of 2023 and are located on the entrance floor of building Forma in Linnaeus University at Universitetskajen in Kalmar. The venue is intended for a maximum of 36 people on site at the same time. For larger groups and events, the use of the BusinessLab premises can be combined with the booking of adjacent premises and the foyer.

The premises on the Växjö campus are expected to be ready to open in 2025. Just as at the Kalmar campus, the premises are adjacent to the School of Business and Economics and are situated in House K, floor 2.

Both premises follow a common design and have similar equipment, however, some local deviations may occur based on the unique education programs and research groupings that the School of Business and Economics has at each campus.
