- Do you have a story you want to share that relates to Kalmar University College, Växjö University College, Växjö University or Linnaeus University?
- Do you have a picture from the past, which shows everyday life at the colleges or university, or was taken at a special event?
- Do you have any tips on someone who has a lot to tell about what it was like in the past, and about things that happened?
Why we are celebrating our 50th anniversary
- In 1977, the seminar activities for higher education in Växjö and Kalmar were granted university college status.
- In 1999, 22 years later, Växjö was granted university status and became Växjö University. Kalmar University College was granted university status within the field of natural sciences.
- In 2010, Växjö University and Kalmar University College merged to form Linnaeus University.
- In 2027, 50 years will have passed since the two university colleges were established.
In that case we want to hear from you! In 2027, it will be 50 years since Växjö University College and Kalmar University College were established. Therefore, we are now looking for stories and pictures from the years that have passed. One idea is to collect these on the web so that everyone can take part of them. There are also plans on publishing an anniversary book, in which some of the stories can be included.
So, take the opportunity to contribute with your story, a picture or a tip! All stories are welcome – short or long, small events or big views, personal or academic.
What has the college/university meant to you? Perhaps you would like to tell us about someone who has been important to you? What was it like to work at the university college compared to working at Linnaeus University now? Have you met love here? Has your time at the college/university, or any particular event, affected your life in any particular way?
We look forward to your contribution with anticipation! Email your contribution to jubileum@lnu.se.
