Baltic Sea Region/China Day 2018

During the conference, we look at the short-term and the long-term outlook, opportunities and challenges for the Baltic countries, Russia, China and India – but also for Sweden and the whole global community. This includes also changes in the society, behavior, habits and traditions and their impact on corporate strategies.

12.00–12.40: Emerging-market research at Linnaeus University. Richard Owusu, Susanne Sandberg and Selcen Öztürkcan.

12.45–13.00: Hubert Fromlet, affiliated professor at Linnaeus University, on developments in China.

13.00–13.10: Brief break.

13.15–14.10: Göran Persson, former Swedish Prime Minister: "How developments inside and outside Sweden will affect the Swedish society and economy".

14.15–14.30: Break, coffee and tea.

14.30–15.10: Iikka Korhonen, head of The Bank of Finland Institute for Economies in Transition (BOFIT), Helsinki, on "The Russian economy in the shorter and in the longer run".

15.10–15.50: Cecilia Hermansson, researcher at KTH, board member in different commercial and non-commercial organizations (some of them linked to research) on "The digital future with special emphasis on financial markets".

15.50–16.30: Gintare Zelionkaite, senior economist, Bank of Lithuania, on the "Outlook for the Baltic Countries".

12.30–13.00: Discussion with the participants, moderator Mikael Lundgren, Linnaeus University
