Guest presenter: Ana-Bianca Tudorica -Understanding the Relation Between Art and Science

Welcome to the weekly IMS seminar!

This week we have a presentation from Ana-Bianca Tudorica.

Ana-Bianca is an exchange student from "Digital Interactive Arts Masters Program", Faculty of Theater and Film, Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj - Napoca, Romania.

The idea of this work in progress paper has started from how art and science are perceived. While the first one is more permissive, more open to interpretation and filtered through one’s own perception of reality, the other is very precise and with no room for changing its purpose.

Through this article, I am trying to deepen the knowledge on how to strengthen the relationship between arts and science and encourage this curiosity. As it was proven in the past - by one enriching the other, it can lead to great discoveries, making significant contributions to society.

The experimental art involving art and science has long existed, even before being recognized as such. As an artist myself, while working on projects that combine them both, I have noticed and learned that for the viewer it can become difficult to comprehend two processes instead of one: the scientific challenge, as well as the artistic concept and approach. My intention is also to help the general audience understand better the connection between the two fields mentioned.

The seminar is, as always, Wednesday at 10.00 – 12.00 (CEST).

The seminar is open for distance participants, contact us at ims@lnu.se, if you want to participate via an online platform.
