Closing ceremony master level 2020
On June 3, 2020 Linnaeus University will hold its closing ceremony for all students who complete their 1-year or 2-year master programmes in Växjö and Kalmar during the academic year 2019/2020.
Due to the corona pandemic, there will be no physical gathering for the master’s level closing ceremony this year, neither in Kalmar nor in Växjö. Instead, we will stream the closing ceremony master level 2020 via a link on 3 June at 2.00 pm. The link will be available on the webpage Lnu.se/en/closingceremony
The broadcast is available for a week from June 3.
Since this year's physical gathering has been cancelled, we would like to offer all students who would like to take part in a celebration to participate at next year's master’s level closing ceremony. For students in Växjö, the ceremony will be held on June 3 at Växjö Concert Hall.
Programme
Växjö Concert Hall, 02-04 p.m., all faculties.
The closing ceremony opens with a welcome speech by the pro-vice-chancellor and the Student Union. This is followed by entertainment and tribute ceremonies. And the closing ceremony will end with the students' speech.
Invitation and registration
Registration is now open. To register you click on the link for registration that you will find in your pdf-invitation you have got by e-mail. Last day to register is on April 14.
The closing ceremony master level are broadcasted live
The closing ceremony master level are broadcasted live on the web. This way, your family, friends and relatives can take part of the event even if they do not have the possibility to be present.

Nominate to the Students speech
At the closing ceremony in Växjö Concert Hall and Kalmar Theatre respectively, one student will give a valedictorian speech to the other students. Students and teachers are welcome to nominate any student to give this valedictorian speech, as long as the nominated student is registered for the closing ceremony 2020.
The person that is chosen as the Student Speaker by the Student Union and Linnaeus University will receive a certificate and coaching in public speaking.
You nominate to the "Students speech" 2019 here . Deadline for the nomination is on April 14, 2020.
Nominated person will be contacted latest on April 24, 2020.
Important information due to the corona virus
You are welcome to invite family and friends but considering the spread of the corona virus it is important that you keep close track of the development on relevant authorities’ websites (WHO internationally, The Public Health Agency of Sweden and The Ministry for Foreign Affairs nationally). In case the recommendations change, or in case authorities advise against travelling, Linnaeus University holds no financial or other responsibility for cancelled trips or the like. The ceremony will be broadcasted live here on the webpage the same time as the ceremony is going on in real life so even if you are not here you can see the ceremony.
Linnaeus University keeps close track of the development of the spread of the virus and we follow the recommendations from The Public Health Agency of Sweden. Note that these recommendations change continuously. At the moment, there is no indication of this, but in the event of a general spread of the virus large events like the Closing Ceremony may be cancelled.
