International Young Carers Conference (IYCC): Identify, listen and support, May 3-6, 2021
Welcome to the 3rd International Young Carers Conference with the main theme “Identify, Support, Listen to young carers” (IYCC 2021), which originally was planned to take place in Brussels, Belgium, in November 2020.
“Identify, support, listen to young carers”
The IYCC 2021 is a joint venture by Eurocarers, Linnaeus Univeristy, and SFCCC (The Swedish Family Care Competence Centre), and aims at continuing where the previous conference in Malmoe, Sweden, 2017 left off.
Among other things, the Malmoe conference stated that young carers must be able to enjoy the same benefits and the same rights as children anywhere in the world, and also that the UN Childrens convention is still no reality for a very large number of young carers all over the world.
