Wood, source of biopolymers: Developing cellulose and lignin based (nano)materials

Wood is a natural, cellular material with unique structural and chemical characteristics that render it desirable for a broad variety of applications from building elements to smart materials in tissue engineering.

The suitability of wood and wood-derived materials for given end use is mainly related to the wood characteristics. Among others, wood chemistry as well as its hierarchical structure are responsible for many wood performances. The course of “Wood, source of biopolymers: Developing cellulose and lignin based (nano)materials” provides an overview of wood and wood-derived materials with a focus on smart material application.

Welcome to this open seminar with professor Nagore Gabilondo from San Sebastian University. All interested parties are invited to attend this seminar.

Wednesday November 9, at 10.00 - 11.00 and 14.00 - 16.00
